Job - Sr. Full Stack Java Developer with AI Location: Charlotte, NC – Hybrid Duration: Contract / Contract-to-Hire Employment: W2 Position Overview Client is seeking a Sr. Full Stack Java Developer to support RAPU (Regulatory and Policy Updates), a policy governance platform that has grown significantly in user adoption over the years. The application has multiple parallel initiatives and requires a strong full-stack developer with a primary focus on Angular UI development, along with Java REST APIs and SQL database development. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across the full application stack, with deep expertise in Java and Angular. Candidates who are not fully experienced across all three layers should have strong Angular front-end experience plus at least one additional component, such as Java/REST or SQL. Top Skills - 8+ years of Java Engineering - 6+ years of Angular UI Engineering - 3+ years of REST APIs and/or SQL Engineering - Kubernetes / OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) - Strong full-stack application development experience Must-Have Qualifications - 8+ years of hands-on experience in Java application development using: - Java - Spring - Spring MVC - Spring Boot - XML - JSON - RESTful APIs - JDBC - JPA - Unit testing frameworks - 6+ years of experience developing responsive and scalable user interfaces using Angular - 3+ years of SQL Server database development, including: - Query optimization - Stored procedures - Data modeling - Strong understanding of J2EE architecture, object-oriented design principles, and industry-standard design patterns - Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting microservices-based applications - Experience implementing and supporting DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines - Experience with Kubernetes / OpenShift (OCP) - Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies - Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to collaborate effectively with development, QA, product, and operations teams Nice-to-Have Qualifications - 1+ year of experience using AI-assisted development tools, such as: - GitHub Copilot - GitHub Copilot Agent - Devin - Other AI coding/testing/productivity tools - Experience with application monitoring tools such as: - Dynatrace - AppDynamics - Splunk - Grafana - Similar monitoring platforms - Experience with React is acceptable and may be considered transferable to Angular experience. Application / Team Environment - Application supports Regulatory and Policy Updates (RAPU) and serves as a policy governance platform. - User adoption has increased significantly over the years. - Multiple initiatives are running in parallel. - Full-stack development includes: - Angular UI - Java / REST APIs - SQL database - The primary focus is on the Angular front end. - The team follows a monthly release cycle. - Contractors generally work a standard 40-hour week and typically do not participate directly in the monthly release activities. - This position is backfilling a contractor who has reached full tenure.
