About the role
Position: Senior Software Engineer (DevOps/ SRE). Role: Contract. Location: Richmond, VA (1 Week onsite/1 Week remote). PR: $55-60/hr. on w2, Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location). Required Skill: Bild or Release, DevOps/ SRE, Jenkins/ Ansible/ GitHub/ Hashi Corp / Red-hat, CI/CD, IAC, Agile/ Scrum, Terraform, PowerShell / Python / Bash / YAML etc. Important: Relocation should be fine for right candidate. Required Years of Experience: - 5+ years of experience in software engineering, systems analysis, application support, DevOps, build engineering, release engineering, cloud engineering, or related technical Education: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or Information Technology. Top Required Skills: - Strong experience gathering, documenting, validating, and managing business and technical requirements. - Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum ceremonies. - Experience creating and managing user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, and process documentation. - Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, or related CI/CD platforms. - Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible. - Experience supporting enterprise applications in production environments. - Experience with SQL, Oracle databases, and data analysis. - Understanding system integrations, APIs, web services, and data interfaces. - Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Python, Bash, YAML, or similar technologies. - Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills. - Experience working across cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities. - Strong communication skills both verbal and written Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary. Nice to Have Skills: - Experience supporting commodity risk, energy trading, finance, utility, operational technology, or regulated industry applications. - Experience with AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms. - Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, GitOps, Helm, or cloud-native technologies. - Experience with observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Azure Monitor, or CloudWatch. - Experience with DevSecOps tools, vulnerability management, and security automation. - AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional. Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert. HashiCorp Terraform Certification. Red Hat Ansible Certification. - CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, PMP, ITIL, Azure Fundamentals, or Agile certifications.
