About the role
Senior Java Developer (GCP) - Pricing Platform Overview We are seeking a hands-on Senior Java Developer to join a growing pricing technology team supporting a newly modernized pricing platform deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This individual will play a critical role in executing a healthy development backlog, reducing technical debt, implementing enhancements, and supporting production delivery as the organization continues its transition away from a legacy JDE environment. This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys owning work from development through production deployment and can operate independently while collaborating with architects, business analysts, DevOps specialists, and external implementation partners. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and enhancements for a cloud-based pricing application. - Execute development backlog items and deliver production-ready code. - Identify and remediate technical debt while improving application performance and maintainability. - Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including implementing code fixes and deploying solutions to production. - Develop and support Java-based microservices running in GCP. - Build and maintain integrations with internal and external systems through APIs. - Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, business analysts, and vendor partners to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues. - Participate in higher-tier production support activities, including root cause analysis and application updates. - Contribute to ongoing cloud modernization initiatives and application enhancements. Required Qualifications - 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience. - Strong experience developing applications using Spring Boot. - Demonstrated Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience. - Experience building and supporting microservices architectures. - Hands-on Kubernetes experience. - Experience consuming and building RESTful APIs. - Experience deploying and supporting applications in production environments. - Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Vertex AI or other GCP-native AI/ML services. - Experience working with GCP APIs and cloud-native integrations. - Salesforce integration experience. - Databricks experience. - Pricing, quote-to-cash, revenue management, or pricing platform experience. - Experience supporting cloud modernization or migration initiatives. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
