About the role
Java/Python Microservices Engineer – AWS Location: Santa Clara, CA (Hybrid: 2 days onsite per week) – Only Locals to California Open Positions: 3 Employment Type: 12+ months Contract Pay Rate: $65/hr. on W2 Position Overview We are seeking a Java/Python Microservices Engineer with hands-on experience designing, developing, and operating scalable backend microservices and RESTful APIs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role focuses on engineering resilient distributed systems, leveraging both Java and Python, containerizing workloads, managing CI/CD deployment pipelines, and handling production-grade troubleshooting within a collaborative hybrid setting. Key Responsibilities - Design, build, test, and integrate robust, high-performance microservices and REST APIs using both Java and Python. - Deploy, configure, monitor, and maintain cloud-native services across AWS environments. - Implement containerization solutions (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS/EKS) to optimize service scalability and performance. - Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless and reliable software delivery. - Conduct root-cause analysis, production debugging, performance tuning, and issue resolution for distributed systems. - Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to implement modern software architecture best practices. Required Qualifications & Skills - Programming Languages: Strong, hands-on production development experience in both Java (Spring Boot or modern frameworks) and Python. - Architecture & APIs: Extensive experience designing, building, and integrating distributed Microservices and REST APIs. - Cloud Platform: Direct experience deploying, monitoring, and operating applications on AWS (e.g., Lambda, ECS, EKS, EC2, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch). - DevOps & Containers: Practical experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. - Troubleshooting: Strong background in writing unit/integration tests, production monitoring, and resolving complex live-environment issues. - Work Arrangement: Ability to work on-site in Santa Clara, CA at least 2 days per week.
