About the role

Full Stack Software Developer III Location: San Diego, CA — Onsite 3 days per week; candidates must be able to work West Coast hours Duration: 06 Months Interview: Virtual Interviews Work Authorization: USC and GC Rate: $75 to $85/hr W2 Preferred Industry: Financial Services Industry Sourcing Guide: - 3+ years of professional software development experience; approximately 5 years is the sweet spot. - Must have professional Full-Stack Development experience developing both front-end and backend applications. - Must have hands-on professional React experience building modern web applications/UIs. - Must have strong professional experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript. - Must have professional Python backend development experience. No Python = Do Not Submit. - Must have experience building and consuming APIs. - Must have hands-on AWS experience developing, deploying, and supporting cloud applications. No AWS = Do Not Submit. - Must actively use AI tools for software development/coding and be able to explain how they use them. Claude is preferred, but Cursor, Copilot, or comparable tools are acceptable. - Must have professional team-based experience with Git/GitHub, pull requests, and code reviews. Personal projects alone are not sufficient. - Must have experience working within a professional Agile/Jira engineering environment. - Recent experience must be focused on modern web/application development. - Front-End Capability is Critical: Do not submit backend-heavy engineers who cannot independently handle front-end development. - Must be an Independent Developer capable of taking a high-level problem/feature, reviewing code and documentation, asking the right questions, and determining an approach without requiring step-by-step instructions. - Location: Strong preference for San Diego — 3 days/week onsite. Exceptional Mountain View candidates can be considered. - Must work West Coast hours. Preferred — Not Required: - GCP - Cybersecurity/security applications - Claude - MCP - Jenkins - AI/LLM agents Cybersecurity is NOT required. Strong software engineering experience is more important; security experience is only a differentiator. Required Qualifications: - Solid understanding of object-oriented design and fundamental programming concepts. - Professional experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React HTML/CSS responsive UI. - Professional backend development experience in Python. - Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and Git-based code review workflows. - Ability to work independently on well-scoped tasks with minimal onboarding time. - Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering on assigned tasks. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - Demonstrated full-stack delivery experience carries more weight than credentials. Role Overview: You will contribute to Threat Reporting Experience, supporting Threat Operations through full-stack development. You'll work alongside engineers on the FY27 roadmap, building and improving the Threat Ops portal and AI assistants. Your work will include developing features, migrating forms, exposing platform capabilities, enhancing defect workflows, supporting dashboards, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver customer-facing improvements with minimal ramp-up time. Responsibilities: - Contribute full-stack features (React front end, Python back end) to the Threat Ops portal, including migrating onboarding and request forms onto the platform's product catalog. - Help build and expose platform capabilities via the team's Threat Ops MCP standard, supporting natural-language query access through AI assistants. - Contribute to the Threat Ops Defect Hub, replacing legacy Slack workflows with a templated reporter flow and Jira integration. - Support team dashboards and metrics, surfacing data such as false-positive rates, AI investigation coverage, and request volume. - Participate in code reviews and follow Git-based workflow and coding standards. - Debug and resolve defects, support deployment and maintenance of services. - Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to turn well-scoped tickets into customer-facing improvements.
