About the role
AI Business Consultant Location: San Francisco, CA / Silicon Valley Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099) Hours: 10–15 hours per week Position Overview We're looking for a well-connected, commercially sharp AI Business Consultant to be [contact hidden]'s presence in Silicon Valley. You'll represent us at the events that matter, find the ones we should be at before they sell out, and get us in front of the companies we want as design partners and customers. This is not a technical role. It is a role for someone who can hold a credible conversation about AI products with a CTO, a Head of AI, or a VC — and then follow up well. Key Responsibilities - Represent [contact hidden] at conferences, meetups, demo days, hackathons, and private dinners across the Bay Area as our face and voice in the market. - Research and prioritize the event calendar. Identify which events, communities, and accelerator programs are worth our time and budget, and make the case for each. - Build and work a target list of companies, generate warm introductions, and set up qualified meetings with the right decision-makers. - Represent the product credibly. Explain what we do, who it's for, and why it matters — and handle the first layer of questions without needing an engineer in the room. - Bring market intelligence back to the team, including insights on positioning, pricing, competitors, and areas of demand. - Own follow-up activities to ensure conversations turn into meetings and meetings turn into pipeline. Required Qualifications - Based in San Francisco or the broader Silicon Valley area and already active in the local AI ecosystem. - 5+ years of experience in business development, consulting, partnerships, product marketing, or a founder/operator role, ideally within AI, SaaS, or enterprise technology. - Strong business fluency in AI, including understanding of: - LLMs - AI agents - AI-native products - Build-vs-buy decisions - Enterprise AI adoption - A genuine professional network you're willing to activate, including founders, operators, enterprise buyers, and investors. - Comfortable representing an early-stage brand independently in meetings and events. - Highly self-directed and able to prioritize activities effectively within 10–15 hours per week. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications - Experience representing an early-stage or seed-stage company in the market. - Prior experience working with enterprise AI buyers. - System integrator or consulting background. - Existing relationships with Bay Area AI communities, accelerators, or event organizers. Additional Information - Independent contractor (1099). - Expected commitment of 10–15 hours per week. - Pre-approved event and travel expenses will be reimbursed. - Flexible schedule, with the expectation of availability for important events and meetings.
